Consumed

Consumed
In a rabid feast
engorged on the vapid
and least
the voracious greed of vacuous
need and want would
come soon to
consume
me

And there
wasted in perforate debase
I tasted the seeds of giving
and the sustaining greens
of living
with less

The forsaking
a redress of excess
I relinquished the profiting empty
and ate of the proffering
plenty
replete

    • Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments– I’ve been working at tightening up my poems. This one included a lot of conflicting sentiment that I was trying to get across in few words. It’s nice to hear feedback on what works and what needs improving. As for the photo, it’s one of my favorites 🙂 ~ peace, Jason
